Yes, Autoslide is designed to be an easy Do-It-Yourself product. Every home automation kit comes with a step-by-step instruction booklet and an instructional DVD.

Please check our Distributor Page to see if there’s a qualified Autoslide installer in your area. Otherwise you can use any licensed electrician or your local handyman.

Yes, Autoslide is powered by a low voltage, 24V DC power adapter /transformer with a 59 inch long cord (included with Autoslide Standard and Elite), suitable for use in any country with 110-240V AC mains power outlet. Additional 6 foot extension cords are sold separately if required to connect to the nearest power point/socket.

The Elite has a 14ft long power cable with the transformer in the middle.

Autoslide is designed to be weather-proof. Standing inside the house looking at the sliding door, if the sliding panel slides open and covers over the fixed panel, that means your door is fitted from the inside and Autoslide will need to be fitted inside. Still standing inside of house, if the sliding panel slides behind the fixed panel, then Autoslide must be fitted on the outside of the house.

If there is a main power failure, the sliding door reverts back to a manual sliding door. The door can still open and close manually with ease.

No. The MultiDrive system will attempt to open the door 3 times but will quickly revert back to close if it is unable to open, with no damage to the system. While this same procedure is in place for the AutoSlide, the track must be perfectly fitted to the wheel for it to take effect. For this reason, it is usually recommended to power the Autoslide off if possible when manually locking the door.

No. This is also described as a Power Assist or Pull Assist which is a built-in function of the Autoslide where a gentle pull of the door handle will activate a full open.

The average door requires less than 60 minutes of installation time. As all doors are not the same, some doors may require a longer period for installation.

Yes. The Autoslide can now be purchased with an electric dynamic locking motor. While the Autoslide unit is in Stacker Mode, Secure Mode, or Pet Mode, it will remain locked when the door is closed. When the door is activated using one of the Autoslide activation devices, the Autoslide will disengage the lock inside the motor, and the door will open. Once the door closes back, it will reengage the lock, providing a new secure sliding door.

Autoslide can handle doors where the sliding panel is up to 200 lbs. However, it must be friction free and free-running. Autoslide Standard can handle up to 12 lbs. However, Autoslide Elite can handle up to 55 lbs of drag force. You can measure drag force using a fish scale or luggage scale.
Note: Weather seals and brush affect the overall weight/pull friction force of the door.

You can program Autoslide to open the door to a width that suits the size of your pet. Once programmed, you have the option of leaving the Autoslide in pet mode, which will only open the door to the pre-programmed width you have set.

The door will automatically open and then time out and close automatically.

Yes. If the door has a drag force of less than 12 lbs. and friction free, the standard Autoslide system will work on your door. For doors with drag force more than 12 lbs, use Autoslide Elite. However, the maximum width of the opening will still be 40 inches unless additional tracks are purchased.

Yes. As long as the door is lighter than 200 lbs. and friction free. However, the maximum width of the opening will still be 35.43 inches unless additional racks are purchased. Please email us using the online inquiry form if you require additional racks for a wider opening.

Test operation by waving your hand in front of the transceiver. Adjust the transceiver orientation and sensitivity to suit before replacing cover.

If that is the total width of the doors measured from one end of fixed panel to end of sliding panel, it means each panel is only 35.43 in. so AUTOSLIDE™ should work if your door is under 200 lbs. and friction free. If each panel measures 70 inches wide making the total width of the sliding doors 140 inches wide, you will need to check if the sliding panel is heavier than 200 lbs.

The standard Autoslide motor will not work on a door with a drag force over 12 lbs. However, you can upgrade to the Autoslide Elite motor to increase the max drag force of your Autoslide for up to 55 lbs.

  • Check that the drive system cog is properly aligned with the track’s teeth. There should not be too big a gap between cog and teeth as otherwise misalignment can happen during the learning/setup stage. Adjust the position of the track or drive system to allow the cog and track teeth to properly align.
  • If infrared sensors were programmed into the system, check that the sensors are not in direct sunlight which could trigger the sensors to activate opening the door.
  • Be sure that the beam lengths are not too long and accidentally being activated.
  • Turn off the sensors to check if this is the problem.
  • Check that all DIP switches are in the correct positions.
  • Check that there is no debris or obstruction on the sliding door tracks causing the system to perform a safety reverse.
  • Also, make sure the door is flowing smoothly.
  • If there are bumps felt during the movement of the door, the system may think it is an obstruction.
